Are we becoming too acustomed to obtaining over the counter remedies, from stomach acid reduction remedies, headaches, back pain surpressants. Surely it should be stipulated out loud on an advertisment that if the problem persists it is advisable to seek medical advice. Covering up a problem is not outright dealing with the cause. Antidepressant just paper over the cause, it all just goes on and on. G.P.s/Doctors know an awful lot and can help solve an ongoing problem that may be stress related, headaches, bowel problems, etc etc which in the long run would reduce time off work etc etc. Sort the problem before it escalates into something far more serious i.e. heart attack, perferated ulcer etc etc
Stress has been such a large contributor factor into my circumstances it should not be underestimated.
