The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
I read 3. First I had severe headaches/migraines myself was age 6
(lasting for 3 weeks). I was a bit shocked to hear this. Is it honestly
diagnosed this young in some cases?

Yes. Pediatric cases are becoming more and more in the news...

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
The more the doctors know about what to look for, the earlier the
diagnosis. Thus there has been an increase in pediatric diagnosis of
MS. I think that most of us with MS probably had it as children, but
did not really ascertain or problem until adulthood or late adolesence.
In 1982, I had only turned 19 and I was considered very young at that
time. Nowadays I would not have been considered so young.

Jayhawk, would you say you had a 'trigger' that set your's off and lead to the diagnosis?
I can honestly tell you mine was buying my first house. That's when I got really sick with the symptoms, and eventually diagnosed.

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
Looking back in hindsight, my footdrop started at 14 or 15 years of
age. I always thought it was clumsiness. In 1982 I dropped my
briefcase on my way to class. My hand loss got me to the university medical center.

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
I haven't experienced footdrop to my knowledge. What's it feel like exactly?

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
For me, foot drop feels like nothing. LOL, what I mean is, I do not
notice until I trip or drag my toe. If you see my shoes, you can tell
that foot drop happens often due to the scuffed toes of my shoes. In my
house there is only tile or hardwood. Rugs and carpet are bad for foot
drop because "Foot drop" can lead to "mouth meets floor"!!

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
Ahh, ok! I haven't had that happen. I do get a numbness in the pad of
my foot on the left occasionally, which I notice while walking, but
never what you described. Least now I know for when it does happen, if
it does!

Re: The youngest age that MS is diagnosed?
I remember limping at age 14 after getting the flu. My doctor was
skeptical when i told him about it but I believe it was my first symptom
of MS.

Here in Australia.. The youngest recorded DX was 14.. That hit him
& his family hard and was in a wheelchair most of his life..
Thankgodness for the meds.. his doing much better now. He is now 46 i
