personal stuff need to let go

I do get increasingly emotional and tearful at my past health issues and find it hard to comprehend how  this has happened as is a case of neglect or incompetance.

I do cry when I read stories or problems from others suffering uneccessaily, and there is absolutely nothing I can do to help them. Not yet anyway. When I walk it will all well and truely hit the fan.

I feel better now as all that was building up and bubbling away inside me. I now know to let stuff out eliviates the stress

my approach

This is how I am approaching my physical probems ok

I started by having acupuncture along the bladder line, until progress ceased
I then had Chiropractic treatment, as I suspected my Atlas was out and had neck issues,
The alongside Chiropractic treatment I again had acupuncture to reinstall flow or Chi
I have today decided to now replace acupunture with massage and exercise loosening up an extremely tight upper torso which affects mobility flow.

So that is my next plan of action, wish me luck.

transverse myelitis and epstein barr

What causes transverse myelitis?

Researchers are uncertain of the exact causes of transverse myelitis. The inflammation that causes such extensive damage to nerve fibers of the spinal cord may result from viral infections or abnormal immune reactions.  Transverse myelitis also may occur as a complication of syphilis, measles, Lyme disease, and some vaccinations, including those for chickenpox and rabies. Cases in which a cause cannot be identified are called idiopathic.
Transverse myelitis often develops following viral infections. Infectious agents suspected of causing transverse myelitis include varicella zoster (the virus that causes chickenpox and shingles), herpes simplex, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr, influenza, echovirus, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis A, and rubella. Bacterial skin infections, middle-ear infections (otitis media), and Mycoplasma pneumoniae (bacterial pneumonia) have also been associated with the condition.
In post-infectious cases of transverse myelitis, immune system mechanisms, rather than active viral or bacterial infections, appear to play an important role in causing damage to spinal nerves. Although researchers have not yet identified the precise mechanisms of spinal cord injury in these cases, stimulation of the immune system in response to infection indicates that an autoimmune reaction may be responsible. In autoimmune diseases, the immune system, which normally protects the body from foreign organisms, mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissue, causing inflammation and, in some cases, damage to myelin within the spinal cord.
Because some affected individuals also have autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjogren’s syndrome, and sarcoidosis, some scientists suggest that transverse myelitis may also be an autoimmune disorder. In addition, some cancers may trigger an abnormal immune response that may lead to transverse myelitis.
In some people, transverse myeltis represents the first symptom of an underlying demyelinating disease of the central nervous system such as multiple sclerosis (MS) or neuromyelitis optica (NMO). A form of transverse myelitis known as "partial" myelitis--because it affects only a portion of the cross-sectional area of the spinal cord--is more characteristic of MS.  Neuromyelitis optica typically causes both transverse myelitis and optic neuritis (inflammation of the optic nerve that results in visual loss), but not necessarily at the same time.  All patients with transverse myelitis should be evaluated for MS or NMO because patients with these diagnoses may require different treatments, especially therapies to prevent future attacks.

What are the sympto

its really quite unbelievable

Each day I get stronger, the more I read of others going through exactly the same things that I have, and the realisation of what a catastrophic mistake has been made in mass misdiagnosis. And on top of that the fact that the condition Candida, which can be responsible for breast cancer, prostrate cancer, misdiagnosed as Rhuematoid Arthritus, Autism, diabetes type 2, obesity the list goe on and on.

So we are all being harmed by the very same people that are supposed to help us.The consequence of this is ernormous, as in the damage that has been inflicted on innocent people and the financial cost will also be massive.

The implications to many friends familys carers etc etc just goes on and on. Its a mad mad world.

UAE4eva

I dedicate this blog to UAE4eva from MS Society young persons message board, who was diagnosed at the age of 14. She or he doesnt know me or I them.

They will get their life back I will make sure of it. When I walk I will search facebook bigtime.

My body invasion by Candida

It was back in March that I discovered that I had Candida, this was not through a Doctor. Waste wise I have mainly normalised, until I have Chiropractic treatment or Acupuncture then I start wasting toxins again. Candida had undoubtedly invaded my whole system. I know realise that it corrupted my meridians of flow. I now realise how important flow is, in blood urinery system, waste and meridians it all has to flow to work efficiently.

The human body is quite amazing

Always learning stuff

As I loosen up I begin to waste Candida toxins again, I have noticed I have been sneezing a lot, apparently sneezing is a sign of detoxing.  thank goodness for the internet, something else I've learnt today.

Acupuncture points UB40 & 57, may help may not

I am now concerntrating on relieving the sciatic nerve, if while sitting I push my right thigh downwards at the same time stretching and looking up to the ceiling, I canb feel a pulling in my waist and hip area, after a few seconds I can feel my foot release that is when I stop.

Tomorrow I see physio for acupuncture, there is a point UB40 in lower back UB57 in both legs I think these two points may have an affect, we will give them a try and see what happens eh!

HIhere is a peice i found on the net about AMITRIPTYLINE

i have also read that it shortens you lifespan, will post the page when i find it.

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Amitriptyline. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

MAOIs (eg, phenelzine, selegiline) because they can cause serious, sometimes life-threatening, reactions. Do NOT take MAO inhibitors with, or within 2 weeks of taking, Amitriptyline

Anticholinergics (eg, scopolamine), bupropion, cimetidine, fluconazole, phenothiazines (eg, chlorpromazine), SSRIs (eg, fluoxetine), terbinafine, or valproic acid because side effects such as blurred vision, difficult urination, drowsiness or sedation, dry mouth, or lightheadedness may occur

Antihistamines (eg, diphenhydramine), cisapride, droperidol, ketolides (eg, telithromycin), macrolides (eg, erythromycin), mibefradil, pimozide, or streptogramins (eg, quinupristin/dalfopristin) because serious side effects on the heart (eg, racing heartbeat, dizziness, fainting, life-threatening abnormal heartbeat leading to unconsciousness, and lack of heartbeat, may be increased by Amitriptyline

Carbamazepine, thyroid medicines (eg, levothyroxine), or stimulants (eg, albuterol, pseudoephedrine) because their side effects may be increased by Amitriptyline
Warfarin because side effects such as serious bleeding may be increased by Amitriptyline
Clonidine, guanethidine, or guanfacine because the effectiveness of these medicines may be decreased
This may not be a complete list of all interactions that may occur. Ask your health care provider if Amitriptyline may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

these are just some , will do a bit more research tomorrow as ime off to bed,

Time to sort out posts

As there are many many posts on here, next week I will go through them and collate the most relevant ones and re post them all together. to make it much easier for others ok

It needs to be right

A very nice man called out to fit new canvasses to my chair. I explained howunsuitable this chair is, in its lack of support, and that the self propelling  wheels are too far back as when i reach for the I lean back hitting the point in my spine that triggers the nerve that flexes and twists my left leg (ouch) Also that the front wheels are too big as catch my feet all the time, ad that I do not have the power in them at the moment to keep them out of the way. Also the back of the chair leans back and I need a back that is shorter and that I can sit back in.
Bottom line is this one is no good, I need something more modern in design. I cant afford to buy one. and nowhere in Notts rents them either He agreed with me and hopefully I will be reassessed. We can only ask, lets see if I get what I need to help me rehabilitate.

As I see it NHS put me in this chair by its misdiagnosis, lets hope they are compliant at helping me get out of it, by giving me a better chair. (not that they know that yet) but when I walk they'll know bbecause when I walk then i"ll talk

I understand why

It saddens me today to find out Montel Williams finally resorted to ccsvi treatment. It saddens me because he was so close with the Atlas theory,

I think with continued manual manipulation, over a period of time and he would have eventually had permenant results.

I tried so hard to contact him, as his influence regarding the Atlas reaffirmed my determination to follow that route, I owe him, Dr. Windman, and Noel Batten a great deal

I am lost for words now, I understand why, I feel a little deflated now, but hey! on I plod

Throwing out the rubbish

What I havent mentioned is every time I go to Chiropractor or acupuncturist, I can guarantee that I waste more Candidiasis debris via my system, an area must relax and release more dead fungus etc. Its only for one or two times and then my digestive system normalises again.

No reaction and that is good

I went to my physio today to have acupunture, and I asked if he could do points also in my feet. I have some weird idea that, the flow needs to be from my beck to my feet.

Today when he twisted the needles there was no reaction from me at all, he did it twice, and I remained still. And apparently that is a good sign.

So we'll see what else happens later on.

The need to look forward not back

I keep thinking "how could they have got it sio wrong" over and over again. Then get a grip, there is a much bigger picture to consider. I need to put this all in perspective and now is the time to move forward and it is not the time to dwell on past mistakes. Its others futures that are important, change needs to be made. Holistic ways and methods need to take over from the medical ways, Chiropractic, acupuncture, stress management, and appropriate neutrition to combat Candida, these all are so very very important and significant for the future of rectifying past mistakes.

no getting away from it

The ccsvi issue is shoved relentlessly into ms peoples faces, every which way they turn. When I leave this page I will come up against them. This being a constant pop up must be distracting

Yet again it all boils down to money.

2nd of 2 (ms hug)

Multiple sclerosis pain can be felt in strange places. One of the weirdest pain-related symptoms is the MS "hug" or girdle-band sensation. Note: Stay up-to-date on multiple sclerosis with my weekly MS newsletter.
When I had the “MS hug” the first time it came and went over the course of several weeks and ranged from an annoying pressure to abject pain. It sometimes went as high as my chest or as low as my waistline. It was sometimes very localized on one side and other times went all the way around my torso. It is truly one of the most annoying and painful symptoms that I have ever experienced.

I think transverse melitis/ MS hug are the same phenomenon (1st of 2)

What is transverse myelitis?

Transverse myelitis is a neurological disorder caused by inflammation across both sides of one level, or segment, of the spinal cord. The term myelitis refers to inflammation of the spinal cord; transverse simply describes the position of the inflammation, that is, across the width of the spinal cord. Attacks of inflammation can damage or destroy myelin, the fatty insulating substance that covers nerve cell fibers. This damage causes nervous system scars that interrupt communications between the nerves in the spinal cord and the rest of the body.
Symptoms of transverse myelitis include a loss of spinal cord function over several hours to several weeks. What usually begins as a sudden onset of lower back pain, muscle weakness, or abnormal sensations in the toes and feet can rapidly progress to more severe symptoms, including paralysis, urinary retention, and loss of bowel control. Although some patients recover from transverse myelitis with minor or no residual problems, others suffer permanent impairments that affect their ability to perform ordinary tasks of daily living. Most patients will have only one episode of transverse myelitis; a small percentage may have a recurrence.
The segment of the spinal cord at which the damage occurs determines which parts of the body are affected. Nerves in the cervical (neck) region control signals to the neck, arms, hands, and muscles of breathing (the diaphragm). Nerves in the thoracic (upper back) region relay signals to the torso and some parts of the arms. Nerves at the lumbar (mid-back) level control signals to the hips and legs. Finally, sacral nerves, located within the lowest segment of the spinal cord, relay signals to the groin, toes, and some parts of the legs. Damage at one segment will affect function at that segment and segments below it. In patients with transverse myelitis, demyelination usually occurs at the thoracic level, causing problems with leg movement and bowel and bladder control, which require signals from the lower segments of the spinal cord.

TN is a symptom of misaligned Atlas

It would be wrong to interpret correction of the Atlas as a miracle cure that can solve all problems. On the contrary, it is essential to understand that the purpose of ATLANTOtec® absolutely does not consist in diagnosing or "curing" a variety of disorders, but simply in seeing whether it is necessary to treat the Atlas. What is miraculous is the body's ability to self-heal, once put in a position to do so!

Correcting the position of the Atlas, if misaligned, is necessary, irrespective of any problems temporarily experienced, as such treatment is an "investment" in good future health. Realignment is advisable starting with children and allows the body to function at its full potential.

Trigeminal neuralgia is caused by an improperly functioning trigeminal nerve. What causes the trigeminal nerve to act up though is not always clear. Often, it is the result of an artery or vein that runs near the nerve, touching or pressing against it, causing pressure. It can also develop as a result of nerve damage caused by multiple sclerosis, and less frequently, as the result of a tumor putting pressure on the trigeminal nerve.

Trigeminal Neuralgia/Atlas

I have been thinking, what causes Trigeminal Neuralgia as according to Dr Windman a misaligned Atlas can cause it.

My gums had bled for years possibly 9 or more, as soon as I began Atlas treatment it immediately stopped.
perhaps there is a link with TN .

Again I think that this is significant.

Now I rest my back properly this time

As I am feeling as if I have been run over by a bus, as usual after seeing John my Chiropractor, I have decided to refrain from leaning forward to use my laptop, thus straining my lower back, this time I am  going to rest it properly, I have no real reason to post anything more as I think there is enough info on here thats relevant.

Aparantly my chair is ok to pop out in but not really suitable to sit in all the time, so I shall concerntrate on getting a different chair, as this one not doing me any favours.

So I now  go away and rest properly this time and stay off laptop

We'll get there in the end

Went to see John my Chiropractor and he said I have got a lot of things going on re my spine which has happened over a long period of time. Concerntration needs to be made lower back and hips.

So on we plod, importantly at our own pace, we'll get there in the end

He was right

John my Chiropractor has always said my left leg misbehaves because of my right, I didnt quite get that one until today. I massaged my right thigh with my deep tissue massager and immediately my let leg flexed and crossed over to my right.

He was right way back.I'm seeing him in approx an hour, and I cant wait to tell him

Candida symptoms and causes, !!!! a must read

SYMPTOMS & CAUSES
Systemic candidiasis, as a separate disease, was not recognized or defined until the 1980's, mostly because its symptoms were so varied and duplicated those of other illnesses, leading doctors to conclude that the patient was suffering from, for example, sinusitis instead of yeast infiltration of the nasal passages. Additionally, since one of the main causes of systemic candidiasis are doctor prescribed antibiotics, which kill the intestinal bacteria that control candida, the medical profession was probably not too eager to admit the existence of this disease. Diagnoses of candidiasis were limited to its visible manifestations, e.g., a vaginal or oral yeast infection. Treatment was directed towards eradicating these conditions alone without addressing the reality of a more serious, but hidden, infection.
The symptoms of candidiasis, and their severity, vary from person to person but the main ones are: chronic fatigue, especially after eating, depression, craving for breads and sugars (yeast eats sugar), extreme mood swings, feelings of rage, especially after eating sugary foods, feeling "drunk" after eating a meal high in carbohydrates (candida's waste is alcohol), hypoglycemia, excessive mucous of the throat, nose, and lungs, chronic fungal infections of the skin (jock itch, athlete's foot) or vaginal/oral thrush, diarrhea, anal itching, short-term memory loss, feeling "spacy," and bloating or gassiness after eating.
In addition to these, lymphatic swelling, difficult PMS, night sweats, chest and joint pain, memory loss, incoordination, blurred vision, intense, random headaches, intermittent vertigo, insomnia, sneezing fits, and increased food allergies are also fairly common. A person tends to get extremely sensitive to damp, mildewy environments and, sometimes, to extreme humidity as well as perfumes, colognes, and smoke. Since candida can infiltrate the urinary tract, acute kidney infections, cystitis, and prostatitis are possible.
While these symptoms can indicate other illnesses, if certain factors are present in one's personal history the symptoms are likely to indicate candida overgrowth. These factors are:
  • Prolonged, or repeated, use of antibiotics, corticosteroid drugs, and/or birth control pills, at any time in the past,
  • a diet high in processed sugars which encourages candida growth, and
  • preexisting immunosuppression caused by drug or alcohol abuse, multiple blood transfusions, debilitating illness, organ transplants, or chemotherapy. All three are NOT required to bring on a case of candidiasis: excessive "sugar binging" can cause it just as surely as antibiotics can. Pregnancy also predisposes women to the condition since pregnancy alters the body's delicate hormonal and pH balance: candida thrives in an alkaline environment.
Contributing factors are:
  • low stomach acidity leading to poorly digested food and
  • improper bowel movements leading to prolonged retention of fecal matter in the colon: these conditions promote yeast overgrowth.

A 20TH CENTURY DISEASE
Candidiasis is truly a modern disease, brought on by medical "innovations" like antibiotics and the Pill and a more "civilized" diet of refined, sugary foods and candy. In some naturopathic circles, the illness is derisively known as "Candy Disease."

The MSS message boards, are really worrying me now. There are to people one who believes in diet and another in HBOT, they have been on the boards for years, offering advice on both subjects which has been helpfull to others. and now for some reason in my eyes being desrespectfully treated.

An older group of users use this board as their alto ego, and if they dont like your ideas etc make sure you have a hard time, when what they should do is move on. people are entitled to their veiws, and personally can see exactly why these two members a pationate about these subjects, as I was regarding acupunxture ans the Atlas. A group didnt agree or like me, were unable to see the bigger picture and lied to get rid of me.

The older members take the younger ones under their wing, this in itself worries me as they are censoring what they are allowed to think, this is wrong and very manipulative.

I have written to MS Society politely requesting that my ban is lifted, but they totally ignore my request. no  reply nothing.

The board has definitely lost its reason. Its so sad as others desperately need it, but not as it is today. Shame on them for ignoring the problem

heat intolerance/blood flow/Atlas

If heat intolerance is due to a lack of blood circulation that affects sweating, this needs researching as to why
this happens.

I believe it is restricted in the neck by a misaligned Atlas......Bingo yet again

18 months, no answers, except negative tests do not mean 'MS isnt there' as one doctor told me, at the same time neuro just huffs the idea of ms or anything else away ( amazes me given they've acknowleged physical problems !)

in the meantime, my social life has, gone! evening classes, gone ! dating, gone ! friends, going !
ive given up all these things as it is the only way i could survive the week at work, now thats affected too !

i was given light duties last year which i managed at first, but now im even struggling to do that ...i say struggle, i should say 'IMPOSSIBLE' TO DO.

im so sick of kicking myself up the bum to force myself do the most normal things, things I ACTUALLY WANT TO DO, im starting to give up trying with fighting what seems like losing battle with body.

im learning now that no matter what I WANT to do, the likelyhood is that some part of MY BODY WONT LET ME !
THE LATEST: i argue with the bladder, it screams at me 'to go' i get there, and it WONT GO until it IS READY !

i feel like quiting job, because i cant do it anymore, having difficulty finding another, im either over/ under qualified ! phoned benefit, if they disagree my health grounds reasons for leaving current role, they with hold payment for 6 months ! not that i want that, id rather be in work ! its a catch 22, stuck where i cant work, cant get another job ( as yet ) !

Climate changes

In the UK because climate changes during the year due to seasons, there is complete awareness that heat above a certain level has a devestating effect, because the urinary system is comprimised the ability to waste heat energy is hindered, therefore the internal thermostat ceases to work, causing quite debilitating affects.
I believe that the internal twisting of the spine because of a misaligned Atlas affected my bladder meridian. I dont know if back then I had Candida but this also can have affect on organs included in the urinary system i.e. kidneys, liver, etc.

If say your countries climate is constantly warm/hot you will then not be aware that to be cooler eases symptoms heat related considerably.

Re my previous post

I am now somewhat concerned and confused. if true or not, should be made common knowledge then everyone knows where they stand, as being fact from the horses mouth so to speak. As this is very important, and I personaly have my doubts, but hey ho! who am I

Montel Williams

Montel Williams name is in a way being used to endorse a current controversial treatment for ms patients.

It needs to be understood

The most sceptical people of what I am saying, is those that have been diagnosed and for a number of years, as they have had all the unbearable symptoms for a longer time period, its just the cause of them is not ms. Some I am affraid have become so convinced by it, it will be very difficultto reverse their thinking.

Thats why I wont knock myself out trying to convince anyone, but I will give them food for thought, to prevoke debate, to allow them to make their own choice of believing or not.

I wont jeapordise my own wellbeing and calmness for anyone who is objectionable. Thats why I now focus on this blog, and not get involved publically, not at this point anyway.  Changes are happening lower back and legs, but only just and are not constant.

Headaches/candida

Apparantly a lot of people diagnosed get headaches.

Tricky one

Are these all caused by Candida

I have noticed many adverts fordigestive problems, thrush and nail fungas problems, these can all be caused by Candida, I find that very interesting

now this is funny or perhaps not

As I just entered previous blog mentioning ccsvi, 3 websites listings came up offering treatment. How people must be constantly bombarded with the issue, its not fair, as nyone expressing an alternative is dismissed.
\

Doesnt quite seem to be a level playing field on that one, as I said too much money involved eh!

blood flow/atlas

The ccsvi iscausing massive debate and confusion, I think it would be be unwise for me to get overly involved with the debate, as too much at stake including money

What I do know is my misaligned Atlas had effected my blood flow.

me today

My knees are not tight together, my groin area feels so much more relaxed, has felt twisted tight andvery uncomfortable, my neck and lower back do ache if I lean back, but it is not a pain as it was. I know it is hard to equate pain but I have had severe, unbearable pain that has reduced me to tears, this today is nothing like that.

If I lean back and push down on my right hip there is a pulling sensation and in doing so I can feel it release a little easpecially in my foot

Things ust get easier little by little. There was a time a week or so ago that I was up every two hours at night.
now it is just one and once up discomfort goes and within 15mins or so can return to bed.

No chiropractors shher madness!!!!

American athetes/chiropractic/damage limitations

Take care of that neck and you wont get MS diagnosis-my theory n e way

Many professional athletes in the United States turn to Chiropractic to help them through the rigors and physical demands of their sport. Players on the men’s professional golf tour have chiropractors available to them at all of their tournaments. Many professional football players get Chiropractic help following rough and tumble games....

Montel has done all the donkey work yet again

The Montel Williams show featuring details re a misaligned Atlas, amongst other contributary factors, influenced and interested me greatly several years ago, and is one the reasons why I have persued the avenues I have ventured down. I today learn that he also interviewed Ann Boroch, who overcame her ms symptoms through  diet (anti candida ) I am amazed at how close Montel was at the joining of all these dots together. Again he has all the bases covered and indepth by interview, yet again this one man has done all the ground work.

When I set up this blog I desperately tried to inform Mr. Williams of it, I felt that I owed it to him as he had influenced me greatly. but allas dont know if I succeeded or not. As that is a man I would like to thank. And that is sincerely not all stupidly starstruck or anything like that. So thanx, it may one day get back to you

CCSVI/ might fix some but not all

A stent may help circulation probs, possibly improve vision, will have plaebo effects which will too be beneficial i.e tension causes that affects physically. psychologically it will have a most possitive affect.

But what I presume it wont do, in others like myself that there has been a misalignments and twisting of the spine, it wont make them walk.

cssvi is a symptom of a misaligned Atlas

I am sure that this is the case, my own blood flow has definitely increased. I cannot prove it, but take my word it has.

This is so relevant to others, and needs looking into.

effects of heat uk/hotter climates

It has just occurred to me that if the climate is mainly hot, differences may not be noted,

As UKs summer peaks in July that is when people suffer the most, any raise in outside temperture has negative effects, it used to be awful, no let up constantly feeling bad until weather changed, its as if the bodies thermostat stops working. I no longer suffer with this, this is my third year. And I believe that the strengthe ning of my bladder after acupuncture along the bladder line caused me these benefits. And that is because heat energy is wasted from the system through the  urinary tract, if this is weakened or comprimised, it then cannot do this process to any effiiency.

Three years no adverse affects, that is a most possitive result.

CCSVI could this be the reason

WebMD Article: Chiropractic Cuts Blood Pressure
According to an article on WebMD (www.webmd.com) proper alignment of the C-1 (Atlas vertebra) can have a significant impact on lowering blood pressure. One of the doctors conducting the study mentioned in the article says that misaligment of C-1 can trigger release of signals that make the arteries contract, effecting blood flow to the arteries in the base of the skull, which in turn can have an impact on blood pressure.

Study Finds Special 'Atlas Adjustment' Lowers Blood Pressure
By Daniel J. DeNoon
WebMD Medical News
Reviewed by Louise Chang, MD

March 16, 2007 -- A special chiropractic adjustment can significantly lower high blood pressure, a placebo-controlled study suggests.

"This procedure has the effect of not one, but two blood-pressure medications given in combination," study leader George Bakris, MD, tells WebMD. "And it seems to be adverse-event free. We saw no side effects and no problems," adds Bakris, director of the University of Chicago hypertension center.

Eight weeks after undergoing the procedure, 25 patients with early-stage high blood pressure had significantly lower blood pressure than 25 similar patients who underwent a sham chiropractic adjustment. Because patients can't feel the technique, they were unable to tell which group they were in.

X-rays showed that the procedure realigned the Atlas vertebra -- the doughnut-like bone at the very top of the spine -- with the spine in the treated patients, but not in the sham-treated patients.

Compared to the sham-treated patients, those who got the real procedure saw an average 14 mm Hg greater drop in systolic blood pressure (the top number in a blood pressure count), and an average 8 mm Hg greater drop in diastolic blood pressure (the bottom blood pressure number).

None of the patients took blood pressure medicine during the eight-week study.

"When the statistician brought me the data, I actually didn't believe it. It was way too good to be true," Bakris says. "The statistician said, 'I don't even believe it.' But we checked for everything, and there it was."

Bakris and colleagues report their findings in the advance online issue of the Journal of Human Hypertension.

Sciatic Nerve DiagramThis is now my current problem and  why I need a suitable
suportive wheelchair. When I go to propel it I have to lean back and hit the point in my back  that triggers the nerve in my left leg, making it spasm twist at the knee and cross over my right. Thats why it is
important. I change my chair.I have had so many different problems, but this seems to be one of my last ones.

Another thing to try

Now IVIG. I have been visiting ..thisisms.. site mainly American and Canadians, I know nothing about this treatment, I'm just tired of reading about procedures inflicted on others in the futile hope that it will make a significant difference. In my eyes people are being treated as guinea pigs, it is all so wrong, medics are clutching at straws because they havent a clue. The more I read, the more astounded I get, it has to stop and I am powerless to do so, to inflict so much on innocent people like myself is abusive, MS does NOT exist but if I shouted that out loud, they would lock me up and throw away the key. The experiments that must be going on at this moment in the name of multiple sclerosis its just mind blowing. A young person diagnosed at the age of 14 that is just unacceptable, a few months older than my own son, its twisted and very sick.

I will not be beaten, I'll get there

You see this is a tricky one, the chair that I have been given by NHS is totally unsuitable for several reasons, I know it my chiropractors knows it as does my physio. I live in Notts , can't hire a chair no-body does it (niche in the market there) I cant prove that I have been misdiagnosed by NHS until I walk, but as I am not in a financial position to buy an adequate chair, I dont need sides to it or foot plates, and I cannot rent at all in this area, I have no choice but to rely on the same organisation that eventually I intend to sue (how crackers is that) I must be the only person worldwide that has been misdiagnosed oops!! I'm not and I am pretty sure of that fact, hence my blog  no body is going to endorse, back up what I say or sponsor me without proof, I will prove it eventually, its just going to take me longer without a suitable chair to help strengthen my core and lower back area. Its frustratingly unfair but hey! I'll get there. Perhaps the NHS will surprise me with a quick and adequate solution, lets see eh!

maybe of interest

SEE THE HOME PAGE FOR DETAILS OF TREATMENT PLAN AND FREE INFORMATION
THE CANDIDA CONNECTION TO AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE SUCH AS RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS AND LUPUS
Why should the body attack itself?
Research has been unable to come up with any real answer to autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid athritis and lupus maybe the body is not attacking itself primarily, possibly the primary target is not the body but Candida Albicans.
Candida overgrowth and the immune system.
Intestinal mucous membrane changes and defective intestinal flora are known as Dysbiosis.
The intestinal flora, comprising some billions of bacteria, forms a fine film on the inside of the intestines.
Most nutrients must pass through this flora, which alters and filters food. This bacterial colonization has grown up along with evolution and has, adapted itself to the interests of the body as a whole.
When the intestinal flora are not intact, e.g. due to treatment with antibiotics, or ingestion of food which has itself been treated with antibiotics, or a diet high in cane sugar , then the intestinal mucous membrane's absorptive abilities become impaired Leaky Gut Syndrome can develop.
Candida overgrowth leads to leaky gut and the escape through the gut of partially digested proteins, toxins, and candida fungus, which may cause autoimmune problems such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis .
If candida escapes outside the gut it can put out receptors on its cell surface which are similar to human receptors for connective tissue affected in rheumatoid arthritis and the immune system in general affected in lupus.
As the body attacks the Candida it may also attack anything which looks like the Candida.
Because of the connective tissue receptors on Candida, the body's immune system may attack other cells in the body which have these receptors.
Many tissues such as the joints have connective tissue receptors and as the body attacks the Candida, the body may also attack these cells.
The result may be painful joints as in rheumatoid athritis or other inflamed tissues as in lupus.

SO – CANDIDA OVERGROWTH > DISBYOSIS > LEAKYGUT > AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE

Candida can produce factors which suppress the bodys immune response to it, so the body cannot attack it effectively allowing it to overgrow further and weaken the immune system.

Candida can suppress the offensive weapons of the body's immune system but not inflammation which will still be generated because the immune system has detected  a foreign invader, so candida overgrowth may perpetuate inflammation and the pain and discomfort that goes along with it in both rheumatoid arthritis and lupus.
Candida has a capsule on the outside which prevents the white blood cells of the body from engulfing the yeast and killing it.
So the body must rely on the other parts of the immune system to try and fight candida.
Candida can change its outside receptors making it difficult for the body's immune cells to react appropriately so it can play hide and seek with the immune system.
Candida overgrowth may leech nutrients straight out of the gut, candida feeds on the nutrients from the food before we even have a chance to absorb the nutrients into our bodies, and malnourishment can further aggravate symptoms of RA and Lupus and stop the body from repairing itself.
The conventional treatments for these diseases such as anti inflammatory drugs and imuno suppressants may also lead to the candida overgrowth circle where the medication lead to increased overgrowth and worsening of symptoms.
So the relationship between candida overgrowth and autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus is clear when ever candida overgrowth is evident it cannot be ignored especially where there is no genetic link to autoimmune disease.
Controlling candida overgrowth by starving the fungus and  repairing the gut can only lead to a healthier immune system and better overall health .
REMEMBER ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE CAN WORK IN WITH WESTERN MEDICINE
Note see Psoriasis under skin conditions.

MS as described today just doesnt exis

Ann Boroch who appeared on the Montel Williams Show some time ago with her remarkable and to me very recovery and  has produced a book called...Healing MultipleSclerosis its not the word healing that I dispute but the words Multiple Sclerosis, as I dont believe that the present day conditio exists.

You will find endless stories where people state that they cured their multiple sclerosis, I'm sure that there is some fictitious ones able to monopolise on the documented sense of doubt and unpredictability of the condition. But all those genuine people saying that they have erradicated the condition through diet are truely better but not from multiple sclerosis but from Candida through starving it by stopping sugar and yeast and probably used suppliments too.

So research the two and answers will emerge, the other problem is the Atlas and caused misaliugnments which then affect nerves

The money that could be saved

If you google Candida and most things you get a result, its crazy how it is linked to so many other conditions, but it all make sense, its probably the most sense of everything and it is denied by medics, but would answer so many questions making the use of medication minimal, how  cost effective that would be, we are talking loads and loads of money worldwide, its amazing

I havent read in detail just Lupus and Candida bit

The CANDIDA diet and suppliments would solve it

Everyone is so close, I would love to be able to answer and inform the regarding Candida, I think it is so very relevant. I cant even join the site under a fictitious name as not taking new members a the mo. Its awful not being able to contribute to the dilemma, its not fair that I am blocked from site. I find my banning a total disgrace and stops me helping others that so need it. I think candida too causes hair loss which would fit one of the replies. The member Twoshoes has alwys suspected a dietry link but I cant let him know either.

CURING MS WITH DIET OR SUPPLEMENTS?

I was diagnosed with MS in 2001. At first it wasn’t so bad but over the last five years + it has become more aggressive.

I went on a copaxone and had mitox treatment plan (and lost much of my hair) for 12 months but symptoms continued to get worse. I’ve been offered more ‘radical’ (to my mind) treatments of which the side effects worry me to be honest (campath or tysabri).

I also added 3.5mg LDN to my regime for the last 6 months but haven’t really notice any difference.

I’m thinking about going off all medication and trying a diet based treatment such as SWANK or Best Bet Diet. My body needs a rest and I’d like to give it a chance to heal itself if that were possible. I suppose the difficulty would be purchasing specialist food on a limited income.

Has anyone done anything similar and cured or at least arrested the progression of their MS through dietary means / supplementing their diet with vitamins / minerals etc?

*My symptoms are legs don’t work, cognitive issues and extreme fatigue
**Anon because I’m sure people will see me as mad, rejecting tried & trusted medications :), no offence, that may be what I have to return to eventually.

Thank you for any advice

I was taking alot of of supplements and vitamins , and i saw my ms nurse because i was feeling very fatigued and tired . She ask what i was taking on a daily basis , i gave her the list and she went to check them out in this book she has . She emailed me back and told me in the book most of what i was taking was immune stimulating .
I have stopped taking them for over a month and i feel better than i have in years . The book is called " alternative medicine and multiple sclerosis " by Allen C. Hi,

I'm currently reading a book called "Trick & Treat " by Barry Groves. It's about how "healthy eating" is making us ill, and about the trend to eat a low-fat, high-carb diet is causing a lot of health problems.

I've been on the Best Bet Diet since Feb 2008, and although it has helped with brain fog I've lost loads of weight. My heat sensitivity has also gone through the roof and I can't be out in the sun for more than a few minutes, otherwise I just go to mush and can't walk. My bladder is also irritated by certain foods, eg. fruit and oils, and I suffer from terrible cystitis. The book recommends frying food in lard rather than oil, and as fried food cooked in any oil triggers cystitis in me, I bought some lard and decided to give it a go. Amazingly, I was OK. The idea of cooking with lard didn't appeal to me as I'd previously considered it to be an unhealthy option. This book is causing me to re-think what I'd previously thought of as "healthy".

But, everyone is different and what benefits one person won't benefit another. I think it's very much a case of give it a go and see what happens.

Hello.

If your legs are not working then I would think about Tysabri at the very least if you haven't tried it, as this is proven to stop relapses in severely progressive MS. Yes, there are small risks, but I am sure that your neuro can explain these to you and how the benefits may outweigh the risks.

Of course, following a sensible diet regimen will make most of us feel much better, but with this beast of a disease, we need all the help we can get.

I watched my mother go through all the fad diets for MS, to of no avail, so I would say beware. Don't forfeit conventional treatment for special MS diets when your MS has become this bad. My mother wouldn't have risked this if conventional treatments would have been available to her at the time.

Have a chat with the neuro or MS nurse.

Chuckling at all the replies to the comments and everyone getting ratty with each other. I agree there is no cure but I do believe a healthy diet and exercise, if you are able to do some is good for your mind and body. So I say go for it you might actually feel benefits from a healthy lifestyle. I think a lot of it has to do with the state of mind your in a lot of people with MS suffer with depression and that can make you feel worse. Good luck with the healthy diet am trying to do the same but the biscuits in the cupboard keep calling my name.
Although am doing about 30 minutes of exercise a day and it feels good.

Just to add my bit to all the rest.

There is no cure for MS
There is no cure for MS
There is no cure for MS

Certain dietary controls may benefit the body in some ways. They cannot cure MS.
Multiple Sclerosis simply means "many scarrings" or lesions - casuses unknown. The lesions are shown in spinal cord and the brain. Apparetnly the disabling symptoms causing loss of balance and fatigue may be helped by removing some foods from one's diet. Each person has to find out by trial an error which foods or drinks can be omitted.

For example the already weakened body will very likely be better off without wines and spirits but this will be a matter of trial and error.

Also, dietary controls can be of help to everyone without any disabling illness.

We can sometimes slow down the progression of MS symptoms with some treatments in some cases of MS but there is no cure for MS.

The term multiple sclerosis is not an identified diagnosed disease. It is a description of the pathology or symptoms.

Hi I don't see the harm in having a healthy diet or taking supplements infact a good diet promotes ones health and general well being but I do not believe for one moment it is a cure for ms. I wish it was we would all be sorted out very quickly if that were the case. By all means follow a diet and I would talk in depth with your neuro about further treatment and the worries you have. It is not a bad thing to have questions when you are offered these drugs after all they are going into your body.

It is a difficult question to answer. I am very interested in dietary issues with ms and I am also very interested in the CCSVI possible link, and amalgam fillings. An electrolytic fallout in the mouth area thus polluting the blood with mercury, one of the most deadly chemicals known to man is on my mind a lot these days. I was not persuaded to follow the CCSVI course until more evidence could be presented; it is simply to expensive a procedure to have no possible effect. My own ms followed almost immediately after a very severe electric shock which in normal circumstances should have killed me. I often wonder if this triggered such an electrolytic release of chemicals, and the start of ms for me?
My own grandmother, now deceased, smoked, drank, and made merry in her long life. She lived to be very very nearly 103.
I do wonder if it is not just one of these elements which afflict us so unfortunately, but a combination of these and others?
In my opinion, diet is definitely a factor to be considered. Our food intake is a fundamental contributory factor in the health of the human species.

Hi Anon.

I agree with nearly everyone who has replied to you as far as MS cannot be cured just slowed down (hopefully).

I have been very lucky so far in that i have only had 3 relapses over 8 years and only have minor symptoms remaining except the fatigue ( i was asked the other day at my local MS therapy centre if i was a volunteer because i dont display any outward symptoms).

I do not take any dmds and never have yet. I follow pretty much the swank diet and go to my local gym for yoga and have weekly oxygen therapy. I had a major relaspe last december which caused symptoms of heaviness and loss of feeling down my left side of my body which lasted a couple of months. This has now all but gone. At this point an mri showed a new large area of inflammation and i was offered dmds but refused as i wanted to try my way first as this was the first episode in 4 years. If this situation changes i will look at what is offered again.

I believe that the problem is we are all different and have so many different variations of MS that no one treatment is right for anyone. I dont see the harm in trying alternative methods outside the normal medical route. The MS centre i go to promotes a healthy diet with exercise plus therapies such as acupuncture and oxygen.

Hi

I'm sorry to say that MS cannot be cured by diet in fact presently MS cannot be cured at all. The medications and the diets etc can only ease the symptoms or reduce the number of relapses but they are not cures. I'm not meaning to be negative but the title is difficult to answer any other way.

So heres what I've done to ease my symptoms: I've tried LDN but it didn't do anything for me but is has for others so I wouldn't dismiss it. I take high dose Vit D and C and inject B12. I've been a lifelong vegetarian, teetoteller, and non smoker so I've have done everything I can (I've been denied DMDs but would have tried them if given the opportunity and feel abandoned by the NHS). For me there's a genetic link as its run right through my family.

I wish I could be more positive for you but the reality is we have to enjoy life as much as we can for as long as we can and live in hope of some bright spark coming up with a cure so that future generations don't have to face this horrid illness. It's too late for me as I've too much damage done now but I still live in hope for others. I hope you can find something to ease your symptoms but take care not to waste money on things that can't work.

I respect any person's right to try any methods they may want to try or any methods they may not want to try. However, MS is at present incurable so your both your title and the content of your post about curing MS is perplexing and misleading especially perhaps to anyone who is in limbo or newly diagnosed.

Progression can be slowed, am not sure it can be completely arrested....but we can live in hope.

Best of luck.     ... read replies [1]
