A balancing act

Why is so much attention being focused now

on the importance of the position of the Atlas?

As the gateway for the brain and the entire nervous system to send and receive messages, it is critical that the atlas’s functionality be unimpeded and in the most optimal position possible.  Tension in this area can be a marker for many serious health conditions.  When the atlas is in its balanced and secure position, the body is able to release contractions and not store up stress.
Elisabeth Westermann,creator & founder

As we know, the central support system for the body is the spine. The spine is made up of 33 linked bones called vertebrae. At the very top of the spine is the first cervical vertebra called the Atlas. The Atlas carries the head and is responsible for the proper alignment of the entire spinal cord and skeletal system.
When the Atlas is in a stabilized, balanced position, the life force energy sometimes referred to as “kundalini” or “chi”, can also rise in a more balanced, harmonic way. This happens because of the way the main blockages release when the atlas is in it’s proper orientation.
“Atlas Balancing” is holistic… blending body, mind and spirit. We do not manipulate, nor give atlas adjustments. The body supports the organism in a gentle way to find its own balance in the physical as well as the energetic and mental/emotional bodies. The real ‘secret’, so to speak, that distinguishes this work is the “sound codes” that represent an ancient language that the body, particularly the atlas and structural framework, understands for rebalancing.  The work is highly energetic and applies light touch along with the sacred Sound Codes  as a form of  healing. The effects are  quite amazing and can be long-term. Atlas Balancing does not use manipulation or atlas adjustments as is common in other modalities.
On a more spiritual level, the atlas is commonly referred to as “the gatekeeper”.  Torque and instability of the atlas contributes to feelings of being out of balance, disharmony and having increased fear.
As one is growing and evolving in their personal transformation, the powerful “chi” energies can actually expand states of consciousness as it moves freely up the entire spine and into the head area, crown chakra. When the Atlas is not in it’s proper position, then there can be stuck energy, which can impair one’s vitality in many ways.
When the Atlas is out of place it causes the head to tilt and turn and the entire spine follows this error, spreading confusion throughout the body’s skeletal structure. A direct symptom of this condition is a stiffening of the muscles. This stiffening of the muscles causes many other painful symptoms to affect the body such as constriction of bloodflow, spinal fluid and bodily fluids causing the immune system to become weak and sluggish. The body instinctively tries to straighten the head up while keeping the head over the feet (center of gravity). And this further causes stress throughout the spine, the shoulders, the pelvis, the hips, the knees, and the ankles.
When the upper cervical structure has this much assymmetry, the body can suffer from headaches, neck pain, stiff neck, back pain, herniated disk, scoliosis, jammed spinal nerves, pain in the hips, knees and joints, differences in leg length and continuous pressure on the spinal column. If birth has been dramatic in any way, it can be turned even more.

balanced atlasFrom birth, current research shows, it is turned profoundly. This critical position and also the tilting of this vertebra can cause a number of discomforts and even diseases. Falls and accidents may also worsen the position.

Effects on the emotional and mental systems
Through the changes in the static alignment of the body, old traumas may be released, and limiting thoughts and emotional patterns may surface and dissolve. Even depression and fear disorders will often be influenced in a positive way through this self-healing process. And the great news is All this happens automatically, by itself, and cannot be predicted in any form or time frame.
Atlas Balancing does not involve diagnosis or therapy in the physical sense. We are working with energetic healing, touch for health and spiritual healing. This work is not meant to replace the therapeutic work of the medical profession but is a support in re-awakening the self-healing capabilities and health in every person. The methodology intertwines body, mind and spirit and is used for the healing of the whole person.
Experience the Uniqueness of this methodology!
  • Atlas Balancing is usually only one session which includes a follow-up.
  • Atlas Balancing can help relieve many chronic imbalances and pain related conditions.
  • Atlas Balancing may help the human body and energy-system to cope more easily with the transformational, evolutionary process as we upgrade our human experience. As we are awakening to the truest connection to our Divine nature, we are experiencing our fullest, limitless potential and this upleveling is greatly enhanced and more easily anchored when the atlas is in it’s healthy position.
  • Animals are also very, very receptive to this modality, especially horses. The work can assist to bring them back to balanced health in many ways.
Most of the time it has been reported that while Atlas Balancing brings a physical relief in different areas of the body, there is also a profound change in one’s attitude towards life. It has been observed that people experience expanded states of vitality and consciousness (being more Present). When the life force energy is increased and flowing more freely and the energy centers balance and reposition, it appears to greatly effect one’s ability to be more aware and observant.
