Science Daily reports, “With infectious diseases, it is often not the pathogen itself, but rather an excessive inflammatory immune response (sepsis) that contributes to the patient’s death, for instance as a result of organ damage. On intensive care units, sepsis is the second-most common cause of death worldwide. In patients with a severely compromised immune system specially, life-threatening candida fungal infections represent a high risk of sepsis.”
“The working group led by Karl Kuchler in the Christian Doppler Laboratory for Infection Biology (Max. F. Perutz Laboratories at the Vienna Biocenter Campus) has now deciphered the molecular causes of life-threatening inflammatory reactions that are triggered by fungal infections: two highly aggressive types of phagocytes in the immune system (neutrophils and inflammatory monocytes), which however also have a high potential for collateral destruction, mediate the inflammatory reaction during an infection with candida. Certain interferons, the messenger substances used by the immune system, which are excreted during fungal infections, stimulate the influx of immune cell types to infected organs and lead to sepsis.”
“We have been able to demonstrate for the first time that the targeted blockade of this immune response with inflammation-inhibiting drugs can significantly reduce candida sepsis and therefore mortality,” says Karl Kuchler, who used an anti-inflammatory substance in the study.
Science Daily said, “Infectious diseases are the world’s number-one cause of death, with pathogenic fungi being responsible for extremely dangerous infections. Worldwide, more than €6 billion are spent each year on anti-fungal medications, and the total costs of the medical treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogenic fungi are estimated in the order of hundreds of billions of Euros.”
Dr. Kuchler used pioglitazone and witnessed a reduction in the number and activity of neutrophils and inflammatory monocytes in mice. “The targeted blockade of excessive immune responses could therefore provide new therapeutic approaches to increase the chances of recovery from life-threatening fungal sepsis,” says Kuchler.
Inflammation is the activation of the immune system in response to infection, irritation, or injury. Characterized by an influx of white blood cells, redness, heat, swelling, pain, and dysfunction of the organs involved, inflammation has different names when it appears in different parts of the body. Most allergy and asthma sufferers are familiar with rhinitis (inflammation of the nose), sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses), and asthma (inflammation of the airways), but inflammation is also behind arthritis (inflammation of the joints), dermatitis (inflammation of the skin), and so on.

Magnesium Principle Effect as Anti-inflammatory

It just so happens that magnesium is the principle substance that modulates cellular events involved in inflammation—no pharmaceuticals are needed. Magnesium deficiencies feed the fires of inflammation and pain. Increases in extracellular magnesium concentration cause a decrease in the inflammatory response while reduction in the extracellular magnesium results in inflammation. Inflammation causes endothelial dysfunction and activated endothelium facilitates adhesion and migration of cancer cells.[1] Magnesium literally puts the chill on inflammation especially when used transdermally.
Dr. Andrzej Mazur, et al. has shown in experimentally-induced magnesium deficiency in rats that after only a few days a clinical inflammatory syndrome develops and is characterized by leukocyte (white blood cell) and macrophage activation, release of inflammatory cytokines and excessive production of free radicals. “Magnesium deficiency induces a systemic stress response by activation of neuro endocrinological pathways,” writes Dr. Mazur. “Magnesium deficiency contributes to an exaggerated response to immune stress and oxidative stress is the consequence of the inflammatory response,” he continued.

Fungal Infections

Fungal infections are very common but doctors worldwide seem myopic about diagnosing serious late-stage, life-threatening fungal infections. Over one million people worldwide are misdiagnosed with tuberculosis, for example, when in reality they have an incurable disease with a similar outlook to many cancers, says a recent report published in 2011 in the Bulletin of the WHO. The disease called “chronic pulmonary aspergillosis” (CPA) is a fungal infection, not a bacterial infection. Is this incurable, totally drug-resistant TB infection fungal or bacterial? It looks very much like, or is identical to, TB when doctors look at it on a chest X-ray and it has very similar symptoms initially. Doctors mistake it for TB and prescribe antibiotics as standard practice.
Because the X-ray features and symptoms are so
similar to bacterial tuberculosis, doctors fail to
recognize it, resulting in many unnecessary fatalities.

There is no hiding the fact that baking soda, the same stuff that can save a person’s life in the emergency room in a heartbeat, is a primary fungal treatment option of the safest most effective kind. When taken orally with water, especially with water containing high magnesium content, and or when used transdermally in medicinal baths, sodium bicarbonate becomes a first-line medicinal for the treatment of fungus infections.
I recently published about fungal infections, and breast cancer has been found to be associated with increased frequency of mold-fermented cheese consumption. Fungi produce toxic metabolites called mycotoxins that can cause cancer. Aflatoxin is a mycotoxin with carcinogenic potency that is found in inferior peanut butter and other nut and dairy products. Researchers in 1993 examined human breast cancer tissue and found significant carcinogenic aflatoxin within the cancer tissue implicating aflatoxin and thus fungus as a cause of breast cancer.

All Pharmaceuticals Are Dangerous

All pharmaceuticals are dangerous (come with serious side effects) and that’s why we are supposed to need doctors. The granddaddy of all anti-inflammatories is aspirin, which can cause more serious problems than it can alleviate. Most pain and anti-inflammatory medications are not safe; even the over-the-counter pain medications hold unforeseen dangers. Despite more than a decade’s worth of research showing that taking too much acetaminophen can ruin the liver, the number of severe, unintentional poisonings from the drug is on the rise, a new study reports. The drug acetaminophen is best known under the brand name Tylenol. Compounds containing Tylenol include Excedrin, Midol Teen Formula, Theraflu, Alka-Seltzer Plus Cold Medicine, and NyQuil Cold and Flu, as well as other over-the-counter drugs and many prescription narcotics, like Vicodin and Percocet.
For safe medicine in emergency, life-threatening situations we have to turn to magnesium chloride. It was many years ago that I came across Dr. Raul Vergini and his work in Italy using magnesium chloride to fight infectious diseases. He said, “Magnesium chloride has a unique healing power on acute viral and bacterial diseases. It cured polio and diphtheria and that was the main subject of my magnesium book. A few grams of magnesium chloride every few hours will clear nearly all acute illnesses in a few hours. I have seen many flu cases healed in 24-48 hours with 3 grams of magnesium chloride taken every 6-8 hours.”
Dr. Vergini wrote, “In 1915, a French surgeon, Prof. Pierre Delbet, M.D., was looking for a solution to cleanse wounds, because he had found out that the traditional antiseptic solutions actually mortified tissues and facilitated the infection instead of preventing it. He tested several mineral solutions and discovered that a magnesium chloride solution was not only harmless for tissues, but it had also a great effect over leucocytic activity (increases leucocytes to fight infection) and phagocytosis; so it was perfect for external wounds treatment. Dr. Delbet performed a lot of in vitro and in vivo experiments with this solution and he became aware that it was good not only for external applications, but it was also a powerful immuno-stimulant if taken by injections or even by mouth. He called this effect ‘cytophilaxis.’ In some in vivo experiments it was able to increase phagocytosis rate up to 300%.”
He continues, “From a practical standpoint, please remember that only magnesium CHLORIDE—and no other magnesium salt—has this ‘cytophylactic’ activity; probably it’s a molecular and not a merely ionic matter. The solution to be used is a 2.5% magnesium chloride hexahydrate (MgCl2-6H2O) solution (i.e. 25 grams / 1 liter of water).”
Dosages are as follows:
  • Adults and children over 5 years old ………………. 125 cc
  • 4-year-old children …………………………………. 100 cc
  • 3-year-old children …………………………………. 80 cc
  • 1-2-year-old children ……………………………….. 60 cc
  • Children 6-12 months old ………………………….. 30 cc
  • Children under 6 months old ………………………. 15 cc
In acute diseases the dose is administered every 6 hours (every 3 hours the first two doses if the case is serious); then space every 8 hours and then 12 hours as improvement goes on. After recovery it’s better to continue on with a dose every 12 hours for several days.
The best option for oral magnesium intake is found in pure magnesium oil, which is approximately 35 percent magnesium chloride. Though not sold for oral use, the purest form of this magnesium salt is of a much higher quality than any industrially-produced magnesium salt, being that it comes from a 250-million-year-old underground source, and oral consumption is perfectly fine, though the taste is a bit strong.
Personally I have diluted it and put it in my eyes and I know some doctors use it for their IV bags. I have my massage therapist use magnesium oil on my body and drink about thirty sprays in water using the magnesium oil organic sulfur product from Ancient Minerals. Liquid minerals, especially when it comes to magnesium, are much better absorbed than their solid counterparts, which depend on ample quantities of hydrochloric acid for their breakdown. I personally use it orally up to my bowel tolerance level, which is increased when the magnesium is taken with or directly after meals.
It is amazing that pure magnesium chloride is overlooked as the perfect medicine for constipation, not only of the intestines but also for constipation of mind and emotion as well. That is why research has shown it as a premier medication for depression, stress and sleeplessness.
