Candida and Obesity

Candida and Obesity

Is it possible that Candida and Obesity are connected health issues?
In this developed world we live in, where our modern lifestyle tends to make us eat more and move less, there is an ever increasing portion of the population who are overweight. Some people even to the point of obesity. Obese people are very uncomfortable. They find it difficult to move about, so continue to move less and less.
Excess weight is a concern for 65% of the American population.
In 2011, 61% of Canadian adults are obese and 24% of children are obese.
Global news says that 3/4 of a million Canadians are considered morbidly obese.
Fluctuating weight is detrimental to your overall health. Clothing sizes keep changing too. This can get expensive.
There is a strong likelihood that if you do have a weight problem, then Candida could be causing it.
Dr. Crook in The Yeast Connection, believes there is a connection between yeast overgrowth and overweight.

Yeast Overgrowth and Overweight

Candida and Obesity and Weight Gain. The vicious cycle!
The cycle starts when you start to notice symptoms of a yeast overgrowth, resulting from antibiotic use taken for a virus or a yeast infection.
This can also happen from the antibiotics and the growth hormones added to the food that livestock eat and then we eat the animal. Herbicides, pesticides and fungicides are used to boost crop production. The toxic chemicals are everywhere. I’m sure you have read articles on the chemicals and toxins we are subjected to on a daily basis.
The result of taking antibiotics, and ingesting these other toxic chemicals is that the intestinal flora becomes unbalanced. The good bacteria in the intestine are killed off, but the yeast fungus is not harmed. Yeast grows out of control in the digestive tract and emits it's own toxic build up.
Leaky Gut Syndrome may be diagnosed next. Leaky Gut Syndrome is so aptly named as it allows yeast toxins to spread through the body. They literally leak into the bloodstream.
Then food allergies and other food intolerances develop.
The vicious cycle continues!
Notice how you are feeling?
Do you feel tired, sluggish and miserable?
What is your solution?
Let’s have a piece of cake! Or maybe a chocolate bar!
Did you know that yeast feeds on sugar? You start having cravings for carbohydrates and sugar. You just can't stop thinking about those chocolate chip cookies.
Can you see where the weight gain is a result of this?

Weight Gain and Yeast!

Toxins from the yeast overgrowth create allergic responses and trigger hormone imbalance. When your hormones are out of control, your metabolism is impaired.
This can slow down the calorie-burning process adding more weight.
This is often a problem for women going through menopause. Menopause symptoms can be created or exaggerated by candida overgrowth.
Blood sugar control is impaired, resulting in a condition called Insulin Resistance (Hyperinsulinemia) and high blood sugar. This creates more yeast and more weight.
Here is one simple change you can make in your life. Use coconut oil in your diet, rather than other oils. This is beneficial because coconut oil contains a potent natural anti-fungal ingredient.
