Hiatal Hernia
story and question
I was feeling sick. Chest pain, dizziness, burping
and general feeling of anxiety which included increased heart rate, sweating and
feeling like I had to go to the bathroom. It would come and go and I became
worried so one night I was feeling really bad so I went to ER. Testing was done
to rule out the old ticker and then I checked myself out and headed to work.
Started to feel better that day but my wife and I went to dinner Friday night
and again the symptoms arose. I started to nose around the internet typing in
the symptoms and low and behold it became apparent that it was a hiatal hernia.
Looks as though hernia's can cause many symptoms and I had many of them. It
sucked! People on the internet seemed to be suggesting that self treatment is
best and surgery is a last resort.
A giant nerve runs the entire heart, lung and digestive systems and that nerve, as most nerves, is very sensative to unnatural alignments. My symptoms were heartburn (upper left side of chest) head and neck aches, back pain, dizziness, stomach pain, bloating and gas, sweating, malaze, uncontrolled pooping, increased heart rate, burping and of coarse anxiety. Even my arm hurt sometimes. Who wants that so I set off for a cure or at least some relief. Changed my diet to vegan (almost cause I am not perfect) Ate tiny amounts of food (no more than half a small bowl) Chewed everything alot or blended it. Ate six times a day. Did jumping jacks with a full belly of water and also did self hernia alignment.(fingers under the rib cage and down) For the most part it worked but still have the bloating, belching and gas. Side effects of diet change also were good. Blood pressure down 20 points. Lost 10 pounds. Reduces arthritis pain(Amazing) My question is....has anyone been successfull seeing a chiropractor ect. for adjustment and is ther anything else that anyone can recommend such as acupuncture or the old reflexologist? I have taken no drugs other than tums and peptobismol. I sometimes worry about the side effects of drugs. I really don't like Doctors but I am aware they have their purpose. My Doctor at the ER looked at me with glazed over eyes and ordered another expensive test. | |

Re: Hiatal Hernia story and question
I find your story very fascinating because it
sounds exactly like mine with the exception I continue to have issue. I to have
been diagnose with a HH and Gerds. I have been battling this for some years. If
I stop the meds PPIs I get all the bad symptoms you mention. While on PPI I
still get some of the symptoms but not all and not as bad I have have tried
diets and exercise eating smaller meals with limited success. I am 40 year old
male I live in Bakersfield which is way south of you but have worked in Turlock
before some years back anyways maybe you could share some more of your daly
routine that helps you I know I would be Interested along with others of any
success you am have.

Re: Hiatal Hernia story and question
I have a Dr appt the 20th of this month and
recently heard of a procedure called TIF and the is a highly touted Dr in Santa
Monica LA area that was on the Drs show its very interesting sounding. But the
jumping jacks I do something similar by sanding on my tip toes hands up and
slamming down on my heels throwing my arms down it helps me.

Re: Hiatal Hernia story and question
hey stretchone - curious to hear the rest of your
story. Did you eradicate the remaining 25%? Also did you look into the TIF
surgery?
Thanks |
